Presentation skills

Here are a number of YouTube videos related to giving good presentations. They're listed roughly in order of difficulty.

  • This link opens a video with slow, simple, ESL-directed speech. The speaker is rather dull and has a British accent. He walks through the beginning of a presentation alternating between tips and examples. (4:23)
  • Karen Friedman's tips: delivered in a clear natural speaking style, about 2 minutes each. Each video has a few simple tips, most obvious, but worth watching:
  • This video is about how to organize a talk. Using Steve Jobs speeches as examples, it is clear and simple (6:55).
  • This video is measured and clear, a little repetitive. About pausing and pacing (8 minutes)
  • This video is a little cheesy, but still skilled, fast at times, but generally clear and simple. On the importance of preparing your audience and getting a coach (4:30)
  • This link opens a YouTube channel with a number of videos providing specific and helpful information on a variety of topics in about 3-minute chunks. Good speaker. British accent. Not slow or simple.
Finally this is an ESL student whose presentation could be critiqued. It's in two parts, 6 minutes in total.
